Wellcome Trust offers Research Assistant Position in Speech Communication at University College London, Applications are invited for a Research Assistant in the Speech Communication Group at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience under the supervision of Prof Sophie Scott. The Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience is an internationally renowned research institute.

Where the Speech and Communication Group is an interdisciplinary group of researchers studying human vocal communication and behaviour. The post-holder will run behavioural studies and assist with functional imaging studies. They will also be responsible for analysing speech, acoustical and breath belt data, and for participant recruitment. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust initially for one year.

Eligibility:
Applicants are required to have experience of experimental design software (e.g. COGENT), as well as acoustic analysis of software (e.g. PRAAT), and breath belt data (e.g. LAB CHART). The applicant should have experience with functional software (e.g. SPM). A training in phonetic transcription and analysis would be essential. A first degree in phonetics or psychology would be essential.
