Scholarships are provided in the multidisciplinary area of Computer Science and Construction. These PhD research studentships are for a three-year duration, leading to the award of a doctorate degree. UK/EU and international students can apply for the scholarships. Overseas applicants will be required to cover the difference between the Home/EU and the overseas tuition fee rates. Application should be submitted till 10th September 2013.

Eligibility: There are two PhD scholarships with the following eligibility criteria:
-The first PhD scholarship is open to graduates of computer science and software engineering background. Applicants should have a minimum of 2.2 honours degree in Computer Science with an MSc in Software Engineering. An experience of working in both software industry and knowledge of construction/building operations would be an added advantage.
-The second PhD studentship is for graduates of Construction with deep understanding and knowledge of Software Engineering. Applicants for this second scholarship should have a minimum of 2.2 honours degree in Building, Civil Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying with an MSc. An MSc in Computer Science or Software Engineering would be an added advantage for the award of this scholarship.

The Graduate School is offering two distinct full-time PhD scholarships researching: ‘Supply chain collaborative BIM (Building Information Modelling) system for minimising construction waste in design’ in the Faculty of Business and Law.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for three years.
What does it cover? The scholarships will consists of an annual stipend of £13,590, subject to satisfactory progress, for three years. In addition, full-time tuition fees will be covered for three years (Home/EU rates only). Overseas applicants will be required to cover the difference between the Home/EU and the overseas tuition fee rates (approximately £7,565 per annum).
