Scholarship Description: University of OsloThe postdoctoral fellow will be working on the project “Ground-based solar observational campaigns to strengthen Hinode and IRIS science” which is funded by the Research Council of Norway. The University of Oslo has an annual quota of 40 observing days at the Swedish 1-meter Solar Telescope on La Palma which is one of the world-leading facilities for high-resolution solar imaging, polarimetry and spectroscopy. The Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics hosts extensive computing hardware dedicated to the reduction, processing and analysis of solar observations. The Institute hosts the Hinode Science Data Centre Europe and is actively involved in the IRIS mission. The successful applicant is expected to carry out observational research combining ground-based data from the SST and space-based data from Hinode / IRIS.
