Postdoctoral Fellowship for the students of any country at the Santa Fe Institute, The Omidyar Fellowship at the Santa Fe Institute is unique among postdoctoral appointments. The Institute has no formal programs or departments. Research is collaborative and spans the physical, natural, and social sciences. Most research is theoretical and/or computational in nature, although some research includes an empirical component. SFI averages 15 resident faculty, 95 external faculty, and 250 visitors per year. Scholarship at Harvard-Yenching Institute September 30, 2012, Harvard-Yenching Institute offers Visiting Fellows Program for researchers in Humanities and Social sciences at Harvard University, This program provides advanced PhD candidates (graduate students and junior faculty members) in your institution an opportunity to conduct dissertation research at Harvard University for three semesters, with access to Harvard University libraries and facilities.

Fellows are also affiliated with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Harvard University, and provided with living expenses while at the Institute. All applicants and university/academy administrators will be notified of selection results in mid-February, 2012. In our selection process, preference is given to advanced graduate students and junior faculty members working in East Asian Studies, especially with a comparative focus. The selection criteria include academic training, quality and originality of the research proposal, depth of subject knowledge and feasibility of conducting the research at Harvard University.

Social History at International Institute Of Social History

Scholarship at(IISH)International Institute of Social History Program Social History Deadline 1 October 2012, International Institute of Social History (IISH) of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences offers Research Fellowships in Social History, The International Institute of Social History (IISH) of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) is located in Amsterdam. Founded in 1935, it is one of the world’s largest documentary and research institutions in the field of social history in general and the history of the labour movement in particular.

IISH holds over 3,000 archival collections, some one million printed volumes and about as many audio-visual items. Gathered from across the globe, the IISH collections provide a unique body of materials on social conditions and social movements in many parts of the world.Fellowships are awarded for five months. Each year there are two rounds. This is a call for applications for fellowships for the periods 1 February – 30 June 2013 and 1 September 2013 – 31 January 2014. The call for applications for both of these rounds is open until 1 October 2012. Candidates should clearly indicate on their applications which of these two rounds they are applying for. After award the fellowships cannot be transferred to a period of stay different from the one indicated in the original application.

Eligibility:
-A Ph.D. degree or equivalent academic track record. The fellow’s research plan should fit the Institute’s focus on social history and make a demonstrable use of the Institute’s library and/or archival collections. A close link with the Institute’s research programme on ’Global Labour History’ is strongly recommended. An indication of the IISH collection(s) to be used in the project is required.
-Fellows are expected to write a report on their research activities at the end of the fellowship period, to take part in the activities of the Institute’s Research Department, and to give at least one public lecture.
-For the current two rounds we invite applications from Africa and Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Russia, Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union.

ESP Guitar Company Scholarship Deadline August 24th 2012

Scholarship at ESP Guitar Company, Musicians Institute’s Full Ride Scholarship awards 100% Tuition credit to one student entering an Associate Degree program or Certificate program in performance for Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard Technology or Vocals. In order to be considered, applicants must first apply and be accepted to an A.A. or Certificate program in performance at Musicians Institute, beginning Fall 2012 or Spring 2013. Currently enrolled students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Accepted applicants may submit a video of their performance abilities through MI’s Full Ride Scholarship platform on Sonicbids.com (see directions below). Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of faculty judges and the top contestants will advance to a semi-final round open to public voting. After voting round, the final contestants (as determined by public voting and an additional review by judges) will travel to Los Angeles to compete on stage for a final judging panel. One student will be selected as the winner of the Full Ride Scholarship, additional scholarships valued at 50% Tuition Credit to an A.A. or Certificate program at MI will be awarded to the other finalists.
