Eligibility:

What does it cover?
Each award will be up to a maximum of US$15,000. Applicants may also include the cost of one local or regional conference where the results of the dissertation may be disseminated

Selection criteria:
-Candidates whose dissertation topics address health policy or health systems issues and show great promise of making substantive
contribution to strengthening health systems in Africa will be given priority.
-The fellowship will support original qualitative and quantitative research that addresses a clear research question, employs appropriate and rigorous design, and has unambiguous national or regional policy implication(s).
-Candidates must demonstrate interest in pursuing a research career and dissertations must be su ciently linked to future research interests.
-The dissertation should ideally be related to other work going on in the department or should have received strong endorsement and support from the department.
-Female applicants and those from Francophone and Lusophone countries are especially encouraged to apply.

Eligibility:

Scholarship duration:
The length of the grant is set by the grant committee during the selection depending on the project in question and on the applicant’s work schedule. In the case of full doctoral programs in Germany the scholarship will be granted for up to three years. For sandwich scholarships, the research stay in Germany will be supported for a maximum of two years. Even when support has been awarded for a full doctoral program, that award will be limited to one year time. Extensions of the scholarship depend on the evaluation of the work of the previous year.

Value:
Depending on the award holder’s academic level, the DAAD will pay a monthly award of 1000 Euros plus travel and health insurance allowances. In addition to these payments, the DAAD will pay a study and research allowance. When award holders take doctoral programs run under the “DAAD Sandwich Model” and obtain the degree at the home university the award may include the travel expenses of both academic supervisors.

Eligibility:
The scholarship is available for up to three years according to the course of university study. Applications can be made by students who have completed an undergraduate degree in any of the following: BTech, BEng, BE or equivalent and are either a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. As part of the application criteria students must submit a proposed project to the panel. The relevance of this project for New Zealand manufacturers, products or services is a key consideration for the scholarship selection board.

What it covers: The scholarships are valued at $17,000 per annum at masters level and $20,000 per annum at PhD level, and may be used in any way that helps the scholars to meet the purposes of the award.

Tenure: The scholarship is available for up to three years according to the course of study. It would normally be expected that scholars would study for one degree at a university. Payments will be made six-monthly and dependent on a positive and satisfactory report on progress from the institution at which they are studying. unsatisfactory progress may lead to termination of the award. It is intended that, subject to availability of finance, there will be up to six scholarships at any one time, one being normally offered annually in each of the two fields designated.

Research Assistant/Associate Position in Nonlinear Structural Dynamics at Department of Mechanical Engineering in University of Bristol, Following the award of a prestigious EPSRC programme grant on “Engineering Nonlinearity”, we are seeking to appoint two Research Assistants/Associates to conduct research on nonlinear structural dynamics.

These roles represent a unique opportunity to work on a large collaborative project addressing major challenges in identifying, modelling and controlling nonlinearity in engineering systems. The project is a consortium of world-leading dynamics researchers, led by the University of Bristol, in collaboration with the Universities of Cambridge, Sheffield, Southampton and Swansea.

You will be based in Bristol and joining a team of eight postdoctoral researchers working across the five Universities. There will also be the opportunity to work directly with a wide range of industrial partners such as EDF, GL-Garrad-Hassan, Rolls-Royce and Airbus UK.
